First one, why « The Third », is there a special signification behind it or is it just a number like an other one?

Well, its a funny story actually. My name is ARTURO, and in spanish there is a nurseury rhyme that says "ARTURO EL DURO" anyways so i started tagging EL DURO in 94. But than i discovered the first DURO from NEW YORK, and i was like oh well. But than i met CRAZY LEGS from rock steady crew, and he told me that ther was a DURO in FRANCE, so i was like "HEY, I GUESS I'M DURO THE THIRD!" And i really liked that, but than my father told me that i was DURO THE THIRD because his name was ARTURO, and so was his father's, so i was the third generation to have that name. It suited me, plus numbers are really cool anyways.......

When did you start doing graffitis?

I started taging the SPANISH KNIGHT in 1989.But i didn't get good until 1993.

Have you ever think to stop doing graff?

I will never ever, quit graffitti. If i didnt do graffiti, i would die.

What's the best thing for you.. what do you perfer.. doing a train? doing a big produktion? or doing something cool in a party like the Still Under Pressure?

I love painting trains the best, sometimes huge productions get really boring. Because we have to keep comming back to finish the mural. I like illegal stuff much more. I was bombing with SAKE from montreal and it was mad fun! Anyways alot of people don't even know that alot of my early MURALS were straight up illegal. I had to go at 3 in the moring for like 7 sundays in a row, to finish them.......

Which aerosol paint compagny are you using most of the time in your work?

I like the COLOR VISION the best for trains or walls, but RUSTO is the best for bombing. TRUE COLORS is good, but not as good as MONTANA. OR BELTON.

Have you ever got in a trip out of Canada for doing graffitis? If yes, where? and how was it?

I went to AUSTRALIA in 1995, and i met my friends LOOMIT, and BROKE (HYPE MAGAZINE) there. ALSO I painted an end-2-end subway and got chased by a helicopter!!! i loved it!!!!!

Now some questions about 3rd Degree. Are you the owner of the mag, are you alone or if there's a complet crew behind it?

It was started by me and CASE, but now its all mine. CASE moved away, and its all my responsibilty. And tons of work.....

How many issues of 3rd Degree are printed by year?

We print about 2 a year....

Is the mag sold over Canada? If yes, where?

The magazine is sold all over the world from ENGLAND, TO TOKYO, TO HAWAII..

We can't pass over the 3rd edition of the Still Under Pressure! How do you find it this year?

I had a lot of fun (even though i only painted for about 40 minutes!!!!!! hahhhahaahha) Anyways it was a huge success and we had a lot of fun...
